If you’re looking for a place that combines sports with real contact with nature, Gialova and Navarino Bay are exactly what you need. The area around Camping Erodios is like a big natural playground for everyone. You can take peaceful bike rides along the lagoon or try windsurfing and kayaking in the deep blue waters of the bay. Every outing towards Pylos, Paleokastro or Voidokilia is a unique experience within the extraordinary landscape of Messinia. Whether you want action or simply to relax, our campsite is the ideal starting point to discover nature at your own pace.
Kayaking - Canoeing
Grab a paddle and head out to enjoy the serenity of Navarino Bay. It’s the best way to see the Gialova coast from a different perspective and let the blue of Messinia clear your mind. You don’t need to be an expert or have your own equipment, just the desire for a seaside ride at your own pace. Exploring by canoe or kayak is one of the most beautiful activities you can enjoy during your stay at Camping Erodios, safely discovering the crystal-clear waters of the area.
Windsurfing
Here in Gialova, Navarino Bay is a true delight for windsurfing lovers. The waters and wind in the area create the perfect setting to enjoy the sea for hours. Don’t worry about your equipment — we’ve set up a dedicated storage space inside the campsite to keep it safe, so you can hit the water the moment the breeze picks up.
Cycling
The area around here is a paradise for cycling and you absolutely must explore it. You can ride all the way to Paleokastro (the Castle of Navarino) and climb up for the best panoramic view of the bay. Another unique experience is to grab your bike at sunset, cross the Gialova lagoon and reach Voidokilia to watch the sun go down. These are routes you simply can’t miss.
Swimming & SUP
The sea here is shallow and safe, ideal for enjoying a worry-free swim. Since the bay protects from large waves, the waters are usually glass-smooth — perfect for SUP and kayaking. Starting right from Erodios beach, paddle through the turquoise waters of Navarino and reach Sfaktiria island, gazing across at historic Pylos.
Cycling around Gialova Region
What a ride! Start out on dirt roads and cycle past the old olive tree farms. Then reach the coast of the Gialova lagoon. What a sight!
Here, you can find 270 bird species from Greece, and you might have the chance to watch closely a flock of Pink Flamingos resting at the shallow waters of the lagoon.
Gialova Lagoon is less than 2.5km away from Erodios campsite, and Voidokilia beach only 6km. Ideal distances for a bike ride!
